Born in 2014 by Steph and David Hua, inspired by their love of food and feeding people (and a Deep Playa hunger-induced fever dream of hot steamy bao). Both Steph and Hua grew up in Asian households where “Have you eaten yet?” meant “I love you.” BCWW pays homage to our roots and those who have loved on us with homemade dumplings, or a plate of cut fruit, or a hot meal (somehow always timed to be ready just as you walked in the door).
Since then, Bao Chicka Wow Wow has evolved into a vibrant community, serving over thirty-five thousand bao, creating unforgettable experiences, and embracing sustainability. From the birth of our Bao Dome to the legendary Far East Night Market, we've grown and thrived, weathering challenges and celebrating our rich cultural heritage.
Today, we continue to honor our roots while pioneering new ways to nourish and connect with our community. With each bao served, we embody our values of warmth, intentional nourishment, sustainability, and cultural pride, creating a welcoming and enriching environment for all.
